Four steps, start to finish
Your address checked on the fire map first, and a written quote for every job before any work starts.
Call with the address
Tell us what you are seeing, a drip, cracked tile, shingles in the yard, or a roof you want replaced, and the address.
Look before any price
The slopes, the details that fail, then the attic where there is one. On tile, a few pieces are lifted where the underlayment needs seeing.
The roof in writing
What the covering is, what is under it, what each option is estimated to cost, and the fire rating each option carries.
The work, then the walkaround
Repair or replacement to the written scope, the City's re-roof permit on a replacement, photographs before and after, and a walk around the finished job before the final payment.

What to gather before a roofer arrives, and why it saves time
Most of what decides the answer is already in the house or on the map.
Look the address up on the fire map
The City's Fire Hazard Severity Zones page links the updated State Fire Marshal maps.
Find what paper there is
The permit record of the last re-roof, and any HOA or committee rules on coverings and colors. A permit is the only document that dates a roof.
Catch any water and photograph it
A bucket under the drip, belongings moved, and dated photographs of the damage before anything is touched.
Tell the gate
On a guard-gated or gated street, let the gate know a roofer is coming. It saves the first half hour of every visit.
The first rain sets the roofing calendar here
Worth knowing before you start calling around, because the busiest weeks are the worst weeks to be choosing.
The Diamond Bar posts in this market's research tell the same story: a leak that shows up in a bedroom ceiling after the rainy season, and a family deciding on the day it rains that the replacement cannot wait any longer. A roof can go a whole dry summer untested, and then the whole city calls in the same week.
So the planned work goes in the dry months. A replacement is best booked when the old roof can be open for a day without any risk of rain, and looking the address up on the fire map, asking the HOA and pulling the permit all fit before that day comes.
- Active leaks covered the same day where light and weather allow
- Fire map, HOA and permit settled before a replacement date
- Temporary cover quoted separately from the permanent repair
- Replacements scheduled in the dry months where possible
